I CAN SEE!!

Yesterday was truly an amazing day for me. I have been having eye problems since February of this year and my eyes were rejecting my contacts. This was kind of a scary thing for me because I play volleyball so much and it is nearly impossible for me to wear my glasses and play at the same time because I have no vision above or to the side of my glasses. For a little while I was playing blind, which was a sight in itself. I was awful! I could barely see the ball let alone pass or hit it... but I just wanted to play so bad. I found out I had an ulcer in my eye!! AHH it was SO scary. I had no idea that you could even get an ulcer in your eye. For some reason my contacts, which were supposed to be the very best that you can get for breathing in your eye, were not letting enough oxygen into my right eye. I started getting really light sensitive and could barely keep my eyes open when I was indoors, let alone outside. I stopped wearing my contacts and my eye healed up in two weeks but the doc was worried. We tried new contacts and also new solution to try to solve the problem, but I still was getting white blood cell infiltrates (which lead to Ulcers). However, yesterday was a day I will never forget. I was able to get LASIK and I now have better then perfect vision! The experience was different than anything I have ever felt. I was so incredibly nervous going into the surgery. I had such a hard time sleeping the night before, but the surgery went well and I am doing so good! Dr. Corey Miller did my surgery and he was absolutely wonderful. He made me feel so comfortable and I think he could tell I was nervous because he just kept reassuring me that I was doing great and just to relax! It was so hard to relax with all the pressure on my eyes, but I did my best and the results are amazing! We did have one little scare because when I had my ulcer it left a little scar in my right eye. after the surgery was over he was checking my eyes to make sure everything looked okay and he said that the scar had a little flap that wasnt lying flat, so we went back in and he re-layed the flap and afterward it felt so much better and he said it looked great. Dr. Miller was really kind and caring and I am so glad I was able to get my surgery done with him as my doctor. I would recommend him to absolutely ANYONE who is thinking of getting LASIK. He is the best of the best and I wouldnt trust anyone else with my vision correction. I have been really great friends with his daughter, Natalie, and Corey and Nancy were like second parents to me in high school. Not only is he a wonderful doctor, but he is also a wonderful person. I love the Miller family and I am glad that we have been such good friends for so long.

Here is a picture of me right before going into surgery! I look good in my hair net and booties! haha

So, I had my check up this morning and they told me I have 20/15 vision in both eyes and they are looking good! I made it a little difficult during the surgery I guess because I had sunburned my eyes in Hawaii (ooooops) but everything went well and I am SO happy with my results. I just cant stop smiling because when I used to wake up, all I would see is a big blur... NOW I wake up and I can see everything so clearly! It truly is a miracle. I love my new eyes!!

That is my dream to get lasik! I've had glasses/contacts since
4th grade so I know the feeling of waking up blind. I'm glad everything was okay with the ulcer and such. Eyes are a scary thing to mess with! Happy Sight!!!

That is amazing! You are so lucky, I have wanted Lasik for such a long time. I keep telling TJ to hurry up and make us rich so I can get it! If this makes you an even better volleyball player that would sweet, even though you are already amazing!
