New Names!

It all began with Megan.

I believe it was yesterday when I was on the phone talking with my coach about an eye doctor appointment that I needed to go to in Salt Lake. The conversation was going really well and we were saying our goodbyes when Grayson pulls out a "See you, Megan." It was one of those things where I wasnt really sure if I had heard him right and I thought to myself "Maybe he said "See you then!" I gave him the benefit of the doubt, like any decent human being would do, and assumed that he didnt call me Megan, because he has been my coach for 3 years now and knows me and for sure he knows my own name! It wasnt 1 minute after this contemplation that I get a speedy text from him saying "I think I just called you Megan..." I thought it was so hilarious and the next day at practice I promptly joked around with my teammates and told them how he had called me Megan by mistake. I dont know why we thought it was so funny, but we decided to come up with different names for everyone on our team.... I may have forgotten some of them, but I will give you a list of some of the ones that I remember, just so you can get a little bit of a laugh like we all enjoyed...

Kris - Suze (short for Susan)
Christine - Alicia (we mostly call her leesh though)
Jessalyn - Amber
Shanda - Sophie
Katie - Dee Dee
Becca - Victoria (Vickie for short)
Hilly - Melanie

I cant remember any of the other ones, and I dont know why we all thought this was so funny, but it made for a really entertaining practice.

Another funny thing that happened today... In our last match in San Francisco, our coach was getting a little heated with ou lack of hustle and said some things that really werent all that bad, but the "hecklers" at the game heard him say "get some balls." They loved this comment and proceeded to tell us to break saying "Balls on three!" hahaha! At practice today our assistant coach Tom lead the pre-practice cheer saying "Balls on three!" We all got a good laugh, and even though Grayson seemed a little embarassed about it, I think he really thought it was funny deep down.
