More volleyball news!

Last night we played Utah Valley and won in 3 sets. It was a pretty sweet match and our team really blocked well, which is always fun. Whenever we get a block when we play in the Smith Spectrum they throw a "Block Party" t-shirt out to into the crowd, which always calls for a mob of people trying to get the free item. The shirts are actually really cool and are also a fun souvenir.

Amongst all of these games and my volleyball season, I have had a little bit of time to squeeze in some fun. For example, Last weekend we played at a tournament at the U. My team drove down to Salt Lake on Thursday in the afternoon and so we had some free time after practice to go do whatever we wanted. I decided to check out the Utah State Fair with Jeff and the rest of the Brewer crew. It was my first experience ever going to the Fair and it was actually really fun! We got to look at some amazing photos and paintings and also looked at the pigs, cows, goats, chickens, and bunnies! It was really fun and we saw some seriously chunky piggies and cows. They sure can grow those things to be so huge! Another fun thing that was there was this "Sideshow." Inside they had all these crazy animals and things that had 2 heads or extra legs or arms, or even siamese twins of different animals. It was really cool to see the 6 legged cow! Although, I must mention that I thought it was a little odd that they had a woman in there who was born with only one leg, like she was some kind of freak or something. I felt bad for her and qiuckly walked by without looking because I didnt think she was weird looking at all! She just only had one leg. I thought it was sad that they would display her as the "human tripod." Kind of demeaning in my eyes.

Here is a pic of Jeff and me in front of the Sideshow

That same weekend my family went to dinner at Macaroni Grill for my sweet little cousin, Gracie's, 5th birthday! She was so darn cute when the singer came to sing her happy birthday. She just sat there with this most embarassed look on her face being all shy until he was finished singing and she promptly blew the candles out and dug into her cake. It was really cute. I love being able to spend time with my family and am so glad that I was able to see them so much this weekend.
